Terms of service and sale

These terms govern access to and use of Argus Scan, a service published by Argus Labs. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the service, you fully accept these terms.
1Acceptance and incorporated documents
The following documents form an integral part of the contract: Privacy policy, OSINT ethics charter, Refund policy, and Legal notice.
Paid transactions and subscriptions are handled by Lemon Squeezy, Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects payments and issues invoices on behalf of Argus Labs.
2Service description and plans
Argus Scan lets you search for public presence of an email address across many OSINT sources. Plans include:
- Explorer (anonymous): 15 public scans per month, 5 per day
- Member (free account): 60 scans per month, 10 per day, breach checks
- Investigator (paid): 375 scans per month, GitINT, enriched cards, deep scan
- Pro (paid): 1500 scans per month, programmatic API access
- Quotas and features may evolve; current limits are shown on the Pricing page.
3Account and security
- You must provide a valid email address and maintain access for magic links
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- Registration may require an invite code depending on service configuration
- Google OAuth sign-in may be enabled or disabled by the publisher
4Acceptable use and OSINT responsibility
Argus Scan provides technical investigation tools. We do not authorize or encourage any illegal use. You alone are responsible for the legality of your research in your jurisdiction.
- Prohibited: doxxing, harassment, stalking, unauthorized surveillance, discrimination, extortion, identity theft
- Prohibited: deliberately bypassing quotas, automating abuse via the API, reselling access without authorization
- You must respect third-party platform terms when investigating them
OSINT clause (France)
Using the service to collect or disclose personal data without a legal basis may constitute an offense (including Articles 226-1 et seq. of the French Penal Code). Argus Labs disclaims liability for unlawful use.
5Quotas, rate limiting, and anti-abuse
- Monthly and daily quotas per your tier (see Pricing page)
- Hourly rate limiting per IP on public endpoints
- Proof-of-work CAPTCHA (cap.js) for free tiers
- Abuse detection via IP hash and visitor id for anonymous users
- We may suspend or restrict access in case of manifest excess or abuse
6Subscriptions and payments
- Monthly or annual billing via Lemon Squeezy
- Automatic renewal unless cancelled before the billing date
- Management and cancellation via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal
- VAT calculated per your country and status (EU VAT number if applicable)
- Failed payments may suspend paid access until resolved
7Right of withdrawal
For EU/EEA consumers: by subscribing and immediately accessing paid digital features, you acknowledge waiving your 14-day right of withdrawal under Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
8Termination and suspension
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; paid access remains until the end of the billed period
- Argus Labs may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, security threat, or legal obligation
- No refund is due for termination due to user fault, except where mandatory law requires otherwise
9Pro API
- Reserved for the Pro plan; personal non-transferable key
- Limit: 60 requests per minute per key
- Key automatically revoked on downgrade
- All API use is subject to the same acceptable OSINT use rules
10Intellectual property
Argus Scan, its interface, brand, and documentation are owned by Argus Labs or its licensors. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.
OSINT results come from third-party sources; their respective rights apply.
11Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party OSINT data.
Argus Labs is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, data loss, or reputational harm.
Total liability of Argus Labs is limited to amounts you paid for the service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to liability.
No liability applies to anonymous free Explorer tier users.
Third-party service dependency
The service depends on external APIs and sources (OSINT, Enzoic, GitINT). If a third party changes, restricts, or discontinues its service, Argus Labs may adapt or suspend features without refund or compensation.
12Export control
You agree not to use the service in violation of applicable export control laws, or from embargoed territories where use would be prohibited.
13Abuse and security reporting

14Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
Parties will attempt to resolve disputes amicably before litigation.
